Paint Protection Film Process
Thorough Wash and Decontamination
Every PPF installation begins with a thorough wash and decontamination of the entire vehicle. Wheel arches, panel gaps, trims and grilles are cleaned to remove dirt, road salt and brake dust that could compromise the film's bond. The paintwork is then chemically decontaminated to lift tar spots, iron fallout and mineral deposits, followed by a clay bar treatment to remove any bonded contaminants like tree sap or paint overspray. This leaves a perfectly clean surface, ready for the next stage of preparation.
Machine Polishing
Before the film is applied, the paintwork is machine polished to remove swirl marks, light scratches and any existing waxes, sealants or coatings that could interfere with the film's adhesive. Polishing also enhances the depth and clarity of your paint, ensuring that the finished result looks flawless once the film is installed. Because PPF can last a decade or more, getting the paint to its best possible condition at this stage is essential — any defect left behind will remain visible for the lifetime of the film, and a properly prepped surface ensures the adhesive bonds securely for long-term durability.
Application
With the paintwork prepared, the film is precisely cut and applied to each panel using computer-generated templates tailored to your vehicle. A slip solution allows us to position the film accurately before it's carefully squeegeed into place, removing air and water from beneath the surface. Edges are tucked and wrapped where possible to keep the installation virtually invisible, with no exposed lines on visible areas. Every panel is checked under detailed lighting to ensure a clean, bubble-free finish.

Curing Time
Once the film has been installed, it needs time to fully bond to your paintwork. During the first 48 hours, the car should be kept dry and out of harsh conditions to allow the adhesive to settle. Full curing takes around 7 days, during which it's best to avoid washing the vehicle or using high-pressure jets near the film edges. After this period, the PPF is fully bonded, completely clear, and ready to provide years of self-healing protection against stone chips, scratches and road debris.
